Out of the tongue
In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
The heart of the wicked is worth little.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many,
But fools die for lack of wisdom.
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. 2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a a]”>[a]perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 b]”>[b]Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.
See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of c]”>[c]iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of d]”>[d]nature; and it is set on fire by e]”>[e]hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.
From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. We are a product of the words uttered by the tongue. The tongue can build or destroy one’s life. What we say is what we become. Never underestimate the power of the tongue. People must learn to speak positive words over their life and their children.
Out of the tongue comes good or evil. Out of the tongue comes a blessing or a curse. Out of the tongue comes love or hatred. Out of the same tongue comes sweet words or bitter words. Out of the tongue also comes constructive or destructive words. The tongue can pull down or uplift. The tongue can strengthen or weaken. The same tongue can give hope or suck you dry of hope. The tongue gives life or death; it can sentence someone to death or revive someone from the bed of death.
Lear to make declarations over your life; what you declare is what you become. Your enemy speaks words of curses far from you but they come to pass if you are not covered by the blood of Christ. Confess what you want to become and so you become. Avoid negative statements over your life or child because such words will become manifest.
