Teaching: Recover all

Scripture: 1 Samuel.30:1-20

Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire, 2 and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. 3 So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive. 4 Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep. 5 And David’s two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive. 6 Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was [a]grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORDhis God.
7 Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. 8 So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”
And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake themand without fail recover all.”
9 So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the Brook Besor, where those stayed who were left behind. 10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so weary that they could not cross the Brook Besor.
11 Then they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David; and they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water. 12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. So when he had eaten, his strength came back to him; for he had eaten no bread nor drunk water for three days and three nights. 13 Then David said to him, “To whom do you belong, and where are you from?”
And he said, “I am a young man from Egypt, servant of an Amalekite; and my master left me behind, because three days ago I fell sick. 14 We made an invasion of the southern area of the Cherethites, in the territory which belongs to Judah, and of the southern area of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.”
15 And David said to him, “Can you take me down to this troop?”
So he said, “Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will take you down to this troop.”
16 And when he had brought him down, there they were, spread out over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil which they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah. 17 Then David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled. 18 So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. 19 And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all. 20 Then David took all the flocks and herds they had driven before those other livestock, and said, “This is David’s spoil.”

The Teaching

We are born in families which are already full of problems and poverty such that we get to retiring time still battling with the problems. Our lves are full misery inherited from our fathers, forefathers, grandparents and great grandparents. We spend the greater part of our productive years fighting to clear this backlog but we fail and die with nothing. In the process we also leave our families deep rooted in serious credits and poverty. You need the anointing of restoration to recover all that was taken away by the devil. It must be in you to work every day with the motive of recovering all that was taken away by the devil. The Lord is giving you the energy to recover all. Be empowered to recover all from today.

Having realised that their kingdom had been plundered by their enemies, the Amalekites, David noticed that crying will not yield any positive result and he garnered courage to fight back. David asked God if he could pursue and God said, “Pursue”. David realised that action was needed and thus he asked God for His covering against the Amalekites. Africa has got a problem of expecting change when they are busy seated doing nothing about it. You must take action in order to make a change in your situation.
David was coming from a victorious battle. He was well known for the power and anointing that was upon him. He came home only to find that they had been raided. Ziklag had been burnt to ashes and was left with nothing. I prophesy and declare that whatever you lay your hands upon to bless others must happen to you as well. People wanted to stone David because of what they found when they got home. He asked God on the step forward and was told to pursue and he would overtake.
Let me assure you that whatever you have lost all these years is there still waiting for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. In your absence, your wife, children and property were taken away by the enemies but the Almighty God preserved them in the hands of those enemies waiting for your return to pursue and recover.
Like mentioned above, when David and his troops of soldiers arrived at Ziklag they found the whole homestead on the ground. David wept but later realised that crying would not help such that he consulted the Almighty God on whether he would successfully pursue the enemies and his God granted him the opportunity and told him to pursue.

I wake up induced with the power to recover all. When I read, I read to recover all. When I work, I work to recover all. You must recover all. The Lord is giving you energy to recover all your properties and wealth. We are born already heavily laden with credits and poverty inherited from our fathers but this must end today.

Ziklag had been invaded by the Amalekites and they took all properties belonging to David and his people but God intervened in David’s life and gave him the power, energy and opportunity to recover all. This same applies to you, your life was invaded by the devil from birth and you never enjoyed life right from the beginning. You were deprived of all life opportunities including very basic things up until now. You eat, dress and travel with what you don’t want because that’s what is available; your life is limited in all areas of interest. You have more problems than solutions because of the devil in your life. The devil robbed everything that belonged to you and staked them all in his warehouse but today the Almighty is giving you energy to recover all.

David’s men connived to attack and stone him because of the losses of their wives and families which they had gone through but David consulted God over their losses upon which he was told to pursue. They really did pursue and recovered all that was captured by their enemies, the Amalekites.
The same should happen in your life today. You may have lost your fortune during your sleep; either your enemy came spiritually or physically whilst you were fast asleep but the Lord Almighty is saying pursue and you will recover ALL. Is it your wife or husband that you lost to your enemy? The Almighty is saying pursue and recover your spouse. Even if it’s your health that you could have lost due to continuous sickness, today is your day to recover all your health and not just ordinary health but profound health.

As human beings we have lost out a lot to the devil. If you lose property and do not go out and claim it or make a report that you lost property you might never recover your stolen property. As Christians we have lost a lot to the devil. We are living way below the standard that God wants us to be on.

We give all glory to God. Mbiri kunaJesu.
