Scripture: Romans.8:1-2, 10-11, 14-16

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
On the Cross at Calvary was where the Lord Jesus Christ got walloped on His bare skin and sustained deep cuts which translated into long stretching stripes while He experienced excruciating pain. All that took place so that the sinner like you and me could be saved, not only the soul but from other physical afflictions like sickness, poverty, misery, sorrow, anti-marriage, and lack. As we celebrate the life of Jesus Christ, His resurrection and His love expressed through the cross, let us be reminded that He is no longer on the cross – the cross is now empty, thus we don’t expect to see Jesus Christ on the cross today. Furthermore, today we celebrate that He is not in the tomb too, the tomb is empty; He is risen!

Death could not contain Him. Even the tomb could not hold Him. No rock of the tomb could sustain His physical body, thus all rocks separated fleeing for safety from the Lord Jesus Christ and neither could the cloth wrapping Him maintain contact with His body. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the best proof that He was and is different from anyone of us. His resurrection makes Jesus Christ extraordinary because no living creation has ever conquered death. Death is our greatest enemy and it has conquered all men but Christ. No man is wise enough to outwit death or wealthy enough to purchase freedom from death or strong enough to overcome death. The completeness of the rule of decay and death is the measure of the absolute uniqueness of the resurrection of Christ because all other men, even the greatest men and the holiest men, have died but never rose back to life. The grave always wins the victory and every person sooner or later returns to the dust.
In fact, the inevitable victory of death applies not only to people, but to all things. Animals die and plants die and even whole species degenerate and die. Cities and nations, like people, are born and grow for a season and then fade away. Homes and automobiles and clothes wear out and must eventually go back to the dust, just as do their owners. Even the universe itself is running down and heading towards an ultimate “heat death.” This universal reign of decay and death is called in the Bible “the bondage of corruption or corrosion” [Romans 8:21]. The resurrection power of Jesus Christ cancels all laws of degradation and decay of your situation into a lively one. But Jesus Christ is alive! It is true that He died and was buried, in common with all other men but unlike other men He resurrected His own dead body, made it henceforth immortal and emerged from the tomb, alive forevermore. This was the greatest of all miracles since the creation itself and was only accomplished only because Jesus indeed is God.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ, therefore, was the birth of a NEW race – we are NEW creatures in Christ Jesus. The key word here is “New.” This is surely NEW life but it is a different kind of life. A NEW creature in Christ is a person who has been raised with Christ and thus, one in whom Christ Himself dwells. This NEW kind of life is eternal life and is resurrection life. Resurrection life in Christ is more than simply a kind of life that cannot die. Rather, it carries VICTORY OVER DEATH.
We could go on reminding ourselves of the occurrences of this word in relation to the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, but we just make mention of the fact now because these references to the Lord’s death in John’s Gospel all bring something NEW before us and it is the NEW things out from Christ’s death, in resurrection which affect us and should occupy us not only now but continuously. Jesus Christ used to hold the Passover feast with His disciples but when He held the last one He told His disciples that He would not hold another one like that with them physically until the Kingdom of God comes. In His words Jesus Christ was educating the disciples of His pending death in flesh and also to ensure that the disciples continued to follow the same principle even after His physical departure. The same was meant to ensure the disciples would pass the same knowledge to all future saved people to abide by the principles of the Passover including us today. Through the bread we would partake of His body and through the cup we would partake of his blood thereby bonding the covenant with Him Jesus Christ to all of us who believed in Him. [Luke.22:19-20].
Jesus Christ came to destroy all of the works of Satan. The last enemy is death. This victory was sealed when God raised Him from out of the dead. But this same Jesus dwells in us. Therefore, all what He is through that resurrection dwells in us.
Therefore, resurrect today. Every area of your life has the right to resurrect because of your ultimate relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are sick it is time to receive your healing!
